The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan once again reiterates its position regarding the reopening of trade routes with Pakistan.

As the trade and transit routes between Afghanistan and Pakistan were unlawfully closed by the Pakistani side and used as a tool for political and economic pressure, this caused serious harm to the people on both sides.

Since Afghanistan can meet its essential needs through many other countries, the Islamic Emirate decided that, for the sake of expanding trade and transit and ensuring the welfare and dignified commerce of the people on both sides, the trade routes with Pakistan will only be reopened once a strong guarantee is received from the Government of Pakistan, a guarantee that these routes will not be closed again in the future for political pressure, unlawful use, or the coercion of the people, and that the rights of traders and citizens of both countries will remain protected.
